         The  OLpur MD 190 is  an  advanced   proprietary  filter  specifically  designed   for
         use    in     hemodiafiltration     therapy.    It   uniquely   combines   post  -  dilution    and
         pre  - dilution   diafiltration  into  one  elegant  and  simple - to - use  filter  design.  As  a
         result, the 
OLpur MD 190 achieves  the  superior  urea  clearance  of post - dilution
         hemodiafiltration,   while    offering   unsurpassed   clearance   of  toxins   in  the  middle-
         molecule range.

       The construction   of   the  OLpur MD 190  is similar  to  a  typical   hollow   fiber
         dialyzer,   using   a  s ingle    fiberbundle.  A   ring -  shaped   groove    in   the   potting
         compound    at   one   end   and   a    two   compartment    header   cap    are    used   to
         separate   the   fiber   bundle   into   two   discrete   but   serially connected blood paths:
         an  oute  fluid  inlet  port is  provided  on  the  opposite  header  to  deliver s ubstitution
         fluid in mid-stage dilution mode.
